Neuchatel

Lake Neuchatel is not on many tourist list for those visiting Switzerland but we wanted to give the lake a go as a trial for our travel pass and were pleasantly surprised with both the cruise and the city.

Monsoons make the Guava grow

I spent a week in Bangladesh visiting friends and teaching a dozen students from the outer regions. It was very hot and humid with a cyclone approaching on my last day. I was impressed once again with the lush foliage and wildlife including dragonflies and fruit bats. Here are a few photos.

We'll be discovering Oxford now

Betsy and family have made the move to their new home in Oxford so I suppose we will begin to discover the city also. For now the impressive thing is a large back (garden) yard with plenty of space for the children to play and a separate room for little Theo. It's not bad that they will see their dad most nights also. Thank you Lord for answering our requests.

July Fourth in Bromley

We did our best to bring out the feel of the fourth by visiting a school fair, grilling chicken, corn on the cob, potato salad etc. Sophia entered a flag cake in the school contest and we had watermelon for dessert.

No rain in Spain

I spent some time in Spain teaching an eager group of students. The weather was very warm and so was the welcome.

Forty Two and Counting

Since Sophia was born on our anniversary, June 13ths have been in popular demand. So, Barb and I took the day before to celebrate in London. We visited the pub from which the Pilgrims joined the Mayflower for the sail to the New World in the 1600s and spent the night near Kensington Gardens after a Poulet Breton meal at Cafe Rouge. On the real day we were deeply involved in a Narnia party for the little princess.

Simis Wedding

One of my guitar students from a long time ago, Simi, was married to Jas last weekend. Their community put on a serious bash at a place called Wicksteed Park. There was food and more food, dancing (both professionals and guests), a photo booth with dress up clothes for the children and high levels of volume! Congratulations and may the celebrations continue.
