He's coming along by leaps and bounds this boy. It's hard to keep up with the changes but here are some of the first six months of the little man's life.

Clare
Clare is another one of those Suffolk towns full of old houses that have been remarkably kept. Barbara was taken with the Ancient House built in 1473. There are castle ruins, an Augustinian Priory, and an ancient church all near the small Stour River by which we read more of David Copperfield after visiting the Friday morning market in Sudbury.

Lavenham
There has been a market on the hill in Lavenham for well over 750 years. The timbered houses date back to Medieval times so the wood must be about the same age!

Chasing Copperfield
Barbara and I decided to take advantage of the slow summer season and go to the nearest coast which is in Suffolk. We happen to be reading David Copperfield and he hails from the imaginary "Blunderstone, Suffolk". Here are a few shots from our field trip.

On the Quiet Side of the Pond for July 4th
We rented a narrow boat for the 4th of July this year and chose not to fly the US flag out of courtesy for our British neighbors. We were joined on the 3 night trip by Betsy and Theo who was on his first cruise. We had a few near misses on the canal but fortunately we were only cruising at about 3mph. This clip gives a glimpse of life at a different pace. Enjoy
